Our journey

How we got here

  1. 2011

    Frustrated and confused

Our journey began with my three year old. We noticed some anomalies in his development. His speech was delayed, and he struggled at preschool. He was super sensitive to sound and light. Even simple activities like picking up his brother from a birthday party became overwhelming. As a young mom, I had no idea what I was dealing with, only that it was incredibly hard.

    Trying medication

After countless doctor visits and tests, we finally received a diagnosis that helped explain my son's condition. Despite my reservations, we decided to try medication. The experience was a nightmare, my son described it as 'wheels grinding in his brain.' One medication made him feel awful, and even a short stint on another offered little relief. It was heartbreaking and frustrating, knowing this wasn't the solution for him.

  3. 2018

    Food as medicine

Determined to find a better way, I discovered Kelly Dorfman, a nutritionist specializing in sensory processing disorder. Her approach to nutrition and natural supplements was a revelation. We went gluten-free, added supplements, and gradually, the lights turned back on for my son. His energy, focus, and clarity improved dramatically. It was the first time I felt like someone truly understood my son and could help him thrive.

    FizzyFocus was born

Inspired by the transformation in my son, I became dedicated to creating something for other parents facing the same struggles. I combined my knowledge as a holistic nutritionist and a mom to children with unique focus needs to develop FizzyFocus: what would otherwise be a shelf of separate supplements, combined into one drink kids ask for, with studied ingredients to support brain health, focus, and emotional balance.* It's the targeted nutrition I desperately needed as a young mom.

    We never stopped improving it

Sam and I run FizzyIQ together now, with the same job we started with. Keep making it better. More than 12,000 families have brought FizzyFocus into their kitchens since, and we're past fifty versions of the formula. Each one is judged on the same three things: purity, the forms the actives come in, and taste. If our own kids won't ask for it in the morning, it doesn't ship.
