What these numbers mean: These figures cover five selected pediatric intervention studies, representing 300 participants including control and comparator groups. The wider ingredient bibliography also includes adult studies, observational research and reviews; it is not limited to these six ingredients. Six ingredients were examined: vitamin B6, magnesium, vitamin D, L-theanine, blueberry and saffron. Some were studied together. These are counts of research participation, not a success rate or proof that each ingredient works independently.
Magnesium + vitamin B6 · 52 children under 15. An open study of children described as hyperexcitable followed a combined supplement regimen. Without a placebo group or random assignment, it cannot establish that supplementation caused the reported changes. Read the 2004 study ↗
Vitamin D + magnesium · 66 children ages 6–12. An eight-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial in children with ADHD and low vitamin D and magnesium levels, alongside methylphenidate. L-theanine · 98 boys ages 8–12. A six-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial in boys with ADHD studied 400 mg daily and found improvements in some objective sleep measures.
